A Closer Look Inside Our Patented Disinfection Chambers

Yuvee® technology, developed by Germitec, is based on an innovative approach to UV-C disinfection, integrated at the core of the patented Chronos®* and Chronos® Max** disinfection chambers.

These chambers are equipped with six germicidal UV-C lamps, arranged to cover the entire chamber volume from bottom to top, ensuring homogeneous exposure of the medical device. Their bandoxal aluminum design enhances UV diffusion, eliminating shadowed areas and ensuring optimal exposure for high-level disinfection.

Control of disinfection parameters leaves no room for variability and begins with in situ identification of the medical device. Using a ring or tag, the device is recognized by the system, ensuring continuous traceability throughout the cycle.

Process efficacy also relies on an advanced system for accumulated UV-C dose monitoring, combining two real-time active photodiodes with a third independent photodiode dedicated to cycle validation. This redundant control confirms compliance with high-level disinfection requirements without the need for manual verification processes, such as chemical indicators or UV dosimeter tabs, thereby reducing potential sources of error.*

The device temperature is monitored to ensure it does not exceed acceptable levels at the end of the cycle, allowing immediate reuse and limiting premature material degradation. Cycle duration is also a controlled parameter.

The effectiveness of the Yuvee® system is demonstrated by numerous tests conducted by the independent laboratory Biotech Germande, confirming compliance with the most demanding international standards, including American, European, and Australian requirements.

*Chronos® is indicated for use in a healthcare environment to achieve High-Level Disinfection of surfaces of external, transvaginal and transrectal ultrasound probes that do not contain lumens and that do not contain indentations or channels that are deeper than their widths.
