Revolutionary Disinfection at Royal United NHS: Raising Standards

Royal United Bath NHS Trust continues to improve their ultrasound service by replacing their existing automated HLD systems with Germitec’s Chronos® UV-C HLD system.

The Revolutionary Chronos Disinfection System

Ever since their first trial of the Chronos UV-C HLD system, the team has been extremely impressed with its speed, simplicity, and reliability, as well as the support received from the Germitec U.K. team. The Chronos revolutionizes practice by cleverly utilizing UV-C light to disinfect ultrasound probes in as fast as 60 seconds.

Ultrasound Team Raves

Tracey Blacker (Operational Team Lead Ultrasound) stated: “We are absolutely delighted to continue implementing best practice and protecting our patients with the latest technology. After using an alternative automated solution for the past three years, it is great that we now have an option that can support our fast-paced workflow and is environmentally friendly. Implementing these new systems will help save the trust over £200,000 over the next five years while allowing us to accommodate more patients in certain areas. These new systems have been welcomed very well with all our staff across our main site and community centers, as they are user friendly and do not expose the team to any hazardous chemicals or heat.”

Pavan Pankhania (Germitec U.K. Country Manager) explained: “We are thrilled to have worked with the trust on this project and look forward to supporting them very closely going forward. We are very proud to be able to offer the trust significant cost savings while providing a product which supports the NHS’ long term sustainability plan. Without exposing the staff to high temperatures or hazardous chemicals, the Chronos will enable the department to safely high-level disinfect their probes without risk with complete peace of mind concerning safety, reproducibility, and traceability.”
