Germitec's Chronos® Wins Prix Galien Award

The Prix Galien Award has honored Germitec’s Chronos as the Best Medical Device for 2020. We’re proud to be recognized by this prestigious organization, considered an equivalent of the Nobel Prize in the field of biopharmaceutical research and medical technology research.

Our breakthrough technology is reducing the risk of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), which affect an estimated 5-10% of hospitalized patients every year, resulting in substantial morbidity and mortality. Chronos has been rigorously tested to kill two high-risk cancer strains found in Human Papillomavirus, 16 and 18, that cause 70% of cervical cancer and other anogenital cancers, providing extra safety to patients.

Studies have shown that pelvic ultrasound examinations have a higher rate of cross-infection risk when HLD is not the standard of practice.
